Free Inclusion-Focused Workshop for APS Teachers, Staff & Community

5 Nov By Maria Votsch Leave a Comment

Just one week left to register for “Including ALL Students, WHY and HOW?“, an upcoming, day-long professional development workshop sponsored by Arlington SEPTA and the Arlington Inclusion Task Force!

Parents: as APS begins to adopt more inclusive practices, please encourage your child’s teachers, aides, and principals to get a leg up on the discussion and learn more about the whys and hows of inclusion at this November 14 workshop. It will be time well spent. APS employees will not only gain invaluable knowledge they can use immediately to benefit all students, but will also get a free lunch and 7 recertification points!

The morning session will address the philosophy, research behind, and benefits of inclusion for ALL students. The afternoon session will provide hands-on practical tips for teachers and staff to authentically include students with even the most significant and complex support needs in the general education setting. Come for some or all of the day.
This workshop, funded by SEPTA and organized by the Arlington Inclusion Task Force with generous support from the APS Office of Special Education, will take place on Saturday, November 14, from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm at the Kenmore Middle School auditorium. Lunch is complimentary for APS employees, and may be reserved in advance for non-APS employees ($10, space permitting).
For further details and to register, click here by Thursday, November 12.
