Discussion of Upcoming Events

Film Screening:  

Deej, about a nonspeaking young man with autism who pursues his dream of going away to college.

Panel Discussion:

Following the film, there was a panel discussion including a local young man with autism who is currently enrolled in college classes, along with his brother; a college professor who has taught classes about autism; and an attorney from the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network.  The group talked about their impressions of the film, their experiences with college classes and the community, and what the ASAN is and does.  The panel and the audience then engaged in an informal discussion about the film and other issues.
